In 1927, Electric Mutual Liability Insurance Company, which was the predecessor of Electric Insurance Company®, was formed by the General Electric Company® (GE) to provide GE with Workers’ Compensation insurance in Massachusetts. By the 1950s, the company expanded to handle a wide array of its business insurance nationally, and by the 1960s, they were providing auto and home insurance to GE employees. In the 1970s, they opened their doors to all. Today, almost half of their auto and home customers come from outside the GE family and know them as Electric Insurance.
Electric Insurance and Insurance Advisors of St. Louis
Electric Insurance, our second largest carrier, is located in Boston, MA. And sure they kick our butts in every major sport regularly, but they are some of the nicest people we’ve ever worked with. They regularly win the Stevie Award for excellent claim service and they richly deserve it. They are truly a pleasure to work with and if you’re really lucky, you might get to talk with an Electric employee that still has the strong Boston accent.
